A Little Touch of Hedwig at Night

So far, I've seen these four actors appear in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Of them all, I liked John Cameron Mitchell best (both musical and movie) followed by Andrew Rannells, Neil Patrick Harris and lastly Michael Cerveris.

Currently, the role of Hedwig has been passed down to Micheal C. Hall who is performing Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway.

Other people have played the role when the show was Off-Broadway including:

Donovan Leitch, Ally Sheedy, Kevin Cahoon, Asa Somers, Gene Dante, Anthony Rapp, Matt McGrath, and Nick Garrison.

Beyond that there are productions playing in many different countries.
