Oh Say Can You See, My Eyes, If You Can, Then My Hair's Too Short

Why you must write and sing at least one song:

1) You owe it to yourself to express your thoughts, hopes and dreams in as many mediums a possible. It's like playing the lottery. The more tickets you by, the better chance you have for success.

2) If a picture paints a thousand words then a song fills the whole world with joy. Joy is way better that sorrow.

3) Singing can reduce stress and improve sleep. It has many health benefits, many of which you may be surprised to learn.

4) It will give you self confidence and be a stepping stone to your personal development goals. You don't even need to know what those goals are.

5) Singing is contagious and the people around you will smile and want to be part of your show.

6) Don't try to be a singer, be the song itself. You don't need to need to have a perfect voice to get your message out to others in a way they'll both understand and appreciate. Think of Bob Dylan. Great voice? No. Got his message across? Oh YEAH!

7) Writing a song teaches you about what's important to you, how you perceive the world around you and your approach to problem solving, and brings inner creativity out for a stroll. You can meet some nice people while out on a stroll.

8) Writing a song can be very fulfilling. You may learn how to cope with your problems better, become more aware of your shortcomings or reach a new level of satisfaction with your life in general.

9) Writing a song and singing is fun and even if nobody ever hears your song you can still enjoy self-satisfaction and the many other positive benefits of the experience.

10) People will be interested in what you say and pay attention to the the way they interact with you. After all, you could be in the process of writing them a love song.
